Homeschool Days are specially designed field trip days for small groups. The benefit is that your visit is self-guided and more flexible than our structured field trip options. You’ll have our interpreters’ attention, PLUS the benefit of your group being able to move around the site at your own pace.

WHAT YOU’LL SEE
Meet with costumed interpreters and participate in the activities of the day.

The program begins at 10 am and activities will take place both inside our historic structures and outside until 2 pm. You may come anytime but we recommend at least 90 minutes to take part in all the activities.

Dress in a Civil War jacket and hat, taste hardtack, learn a drill that soldiers did using Civil War “dummy” guns, and even pick up some Civil War slang. Follow along as a Civil War re-enactor takes you marching, drilling, and following the path of the Flag of Company A.

The ideal age for this program is 4 to 17. Register by August 8.

Homeschool program admission is $6 for students age 4 to 17. Children under 4 are admitted free. One adult educator per family is admitted free.  Additional adults may join in the program at a cost of $6 each.
