While we are excited to share our Pioneer Winter experiences with you tomorrow, Thursday, February 7, winter weather is expected for our area and we are choosing to postpone the program for Thursday, February 28th from 10 am to 2 pm. The safety of you, your family, and our volunteers is our top priority.
***
Homeschool Days are specially designed field trip days for small groups. The benefit is that your visit is self-guided and more flexible than our structured field trip options. You’ll have our interpreters’ attention, PLUS the benefit of your group being able to move around the site at its own pace.
WHAT YOU’LL SEE
Meet with costumed interpreters and participate in the activities of the day.
The program begins at 10 am and activities will take place both inside our historic structures and outside until 2 pm. You may come anytime but we recommend at least 90 minutes to take part in all the activities.
Experience how pioneers survived harsh Wisconsin winters! Dip candles with the Kunze family, play parlor games with Mrs. Sorenson, attend a one-room school lesson, make a craft in the dress shop, visit the depot, and print a postcard in the print shop.
The ideal age for this program is 4 to 17.
Homeschool program admission is $6 for students age 4 to 17. Children under 4 are admitted free. One adult educator per family is admitted free. Additional adults may join in the program at a cost of $6 each.
