History of Communication:
Themed Field Trip
Thursday, October 23 from 10 am - 2 pm
Discover the history of communication for our early residents. From Morse Code, to the popularity of wood type, and the skills of pen and ink - you’ll learn about the past and make connections to today’s communication methods.
As part of this field trip you will:
Discover the innovation and science behind Morse Code.
Learn how Two Rivers, Wisconsin put on spotlight on wood type - and create your own piece on our press.
Try your hand writing with pen and ink.
How to register
This program is for pre-registration only. This slower moving day allows students to go through the themed stations at their own pace. Please arrive during your selected time slot — the four times are: 10 am; 10:30 am; 11 am; 11:30 am; and 12 Noon. In the ticket purchase window, click “Other Dates” and “Other Times” to browse various themed field trip date and time options.
We recommend allowing at least 2 hours in your day to take part in the program. The program is targeted to students in Grades K-12.
All participants are welcome to stay until 2 pm.
Groups are welcome to picnic either prior or after the program. Please note that our Manitowoc County Historical Society has a carry in, carry out trash policy.

Ticket Information
Pre-registration is required for participation. Registration closes 48 hours before the program date.
Primary Family Educator/Teacher: FREE
Additional Adults/Chaperones: $13
Youth (4 – 17): $6
Children under 4: FREE
Please note that K-12 schools are allotted a certain number of free chaperones - one free chaperone for every 10 students.
