Your Voice, Your Vote School Day: Themed Field Trip

Your Voice, Your Vote School Day:
Themed Field Trip

Coming Spring 2026, from 9:30 am - 1:30 pm

There is much to decide in the future of the Village of Pinecrest!

Should a new rail line come to town? Listen as Mrs. Kunze and Mrs. Sorenson debate the issues around their right to own property. The Pinecrest Post is working on an article about gas lighting in town and needs your help. The experience includes 1900s era issues to debate and then vote at the Two Creeks Town Hall and Meeme Poll House.

During the day students can visit the historic village to answer these questions:

  • What does democracy mean? And what is the role of government?

  • How have rights and responsibilities changed for citizens since the 19th century?

  • What was the impact of the 13th, 14th, & 15th amendments?

  • What role did a Town Hall or a town meeting play in 19th century communities?

This program is open to all public, private, and home school students. Reservations are required one week before the program date.
