Civil War Evening Lantern Tour and Dance
Saturday, September 27 at 6:30 pm
"We skirmished with the enemy all that day and next until nightfall …”
“…when we charged the enemy’s center works and were repulsed with heavy loss. We were again in action yesterday being under heavy musketry fire nearly all day, loosing quite a number of men, among them Lieut. Gibson, who was wounded in the head. On the 10th I was wounded in the face by a piece of shell.”
The pages of local Civil War journals come to life in this guided lantern tour.
Feel like part of the encampment as period dressed historical interpreters lead you by lantern light through the camps and village - hearing true stories from the front lines and the Homefront. You’ll also make a stop at the Civil War era dance where you can be a wallflower or join in the fun!
